St Albans Guest House Dover is a convenient and budget-friendly guest house located at 71 Folkestone Road, Dover CT17 9RZ, United Kingdom. Set directly opposite Dover Priory Railway Station, it is especially useful for travellers arriving by train, heading to the ferry port, or planning a short stay before exploring the Kent coast. The location is one of its strongest advantages, giving guests quick access to transport links, Dover town centre, and nearby attractions.

The guest house has a simple, independent, and practical style. It is not a luxury hotel with large public spaces or resort-style facilities. Instead, it focuses on what many Dover visitors actually need: a clean room, easy check-in, reliable Wi-Fi, and a location that saves time. This makes St Albans Guest House Dover a smart option for solo travellers, couples, walkers, cyclists, ferry passengers, and short-stay guests who prefer value and convenience.

One standout feature is the self-service check-in system. Guests can arrive with more flexibility, which is helpful when travel schedules change or transport runs late. This modern, low-contact approach fits well with the needs of people passing through Dover for business, ferry connections, or weekend travel. The overall experience feels efficient and straightforward, with less waiting around and more independence.

Rooms are compact but well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Many include en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, a fridge, tea and coffee facilities, heating, a TV, and practical basics for overnight or short-term visits. These small details make the guest house feel more useful than a basic room-only stay. Having a fridge and hot drink facilities is especially handy for guests who want to keep snacks, drinks, or simple breakfast items close by.

Another helpful feature is the shared kitchenette. This gives travellers the option to prepare simple food, heat meals, or handle light self-catering needs. For longer stays or budget-conscious guests, that can make a real difference. Luggage storage lockers are also available, which is useful for early arrivals, late departures, or visitors who want to explore Dover without carrying bags around.

St Albans Guest House Dover is also a practical choice for cyclists and motorcyclists. Secure off-street parking with locking points and CCTV adds peace of mind for guests travelling with bikes or motorcycles. This fits well with Dover’s role as a stop for road trips, coastal routes, and ferry travel.

In conclusion, St Albans Guest House Dover is a dependable choice for travellers who value location, flexibility, and essential comfort. With its position opposite Dover Priory Station, self-service setup, free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, and practical room features, it offers a convenient base for exploring Dover or continuing a journey through Kent.

My stay was incredibly pleasant, offering a wonderfully quiet environment for relaxation. The convenience of its location, just a two-minute walk from the train station, was a huge plus. I found the owners to be exceptionally nice and friendly, always ready to offer their helpful assistance. The amenities were spot on, with a consistently nice hot shower and a truly comfortable bed ensuring a good night's rest. Honestly, I couldn't find a single thing to fault about this place; it's fantastic value, cheerful, and I would absolutely choose to stay here again.

I found the guest house to be exceptionally clean, and the housekeeper was very pleasant during my stay. Checking in was a breeze with their keypad system; a helpful tip is to ensure you have your key code saved on your phone or written down, especially if you might not have internet access right when you arrive. My room was well-equipped with a nice coffee bar, offering coffee, cocoa, and filtered water conveniently kept in the fridge. The location is incredibly convenient, as it's situated directly across the street from the Dover Priory Train Station, which I noted even has Wi-Fi, and there's also a taxi stand right there.

Our room was incredibly clean and felt wonderfully cozy, making for a very comfortable stay. The guest house's location right beside the train station was incredibly convenient for us. We found the self-check-in process to be straightforward and hassle-free, which was a great start. Plus, having the option to do our laundry was a huge bonus. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

After a rather frustrating experience left me stranded due to some serious incompetence at a nearby hostel, finding this guest house felt like an absolute lifesaver. Despite the busy season price feeling a tad high for the value – nearly double what it might normally be – the warm welcome I received made the £40 cost entirely justifiable given my predicament. I was quickly settled into a room that was both comfy and impeccably clean, complete with a TV and impressively fast Wi-Fi. As a taller individual at 6'4", I did find the bed a touch short, with my feet nearly hanging off, but I still managed to get a truly fabulous night's sleep. The shower pressure was on the lower side, yet the water temperature remained perfectly consistent throughout. They thoughtfully provided a full range of toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, body wash, and even a bar of soap, alongside an electric kettle for convenience. Just be aware that beyond a few cups of tea, you'll need to venture out for food, with a petrol station and several chippies readily available in the vicinity. All in all, it was a very comfortable stay, and should the pricing be agreeable in the future, I would certainly choose to stay here again. And just to clarify, the room was spotless upon my arrival; any mess was entirely my own doing.

We opted for a single night's stay, primarily to ensure a stress-free morning before catching our 8:30 AM ferry to Calais. Living a considerable 270-mile, five-hour drive away in Yorkshire, we were keen to avoid the necessity of a 3 o’clock in the morning departure. The guest house proved to be in an absolutely perfect location, making it incredibly convenient for our journey and allowing us easy access to the ferry terminal.

This guest house was truly excellent, boasting a superb location right across from Dover Priory Train Station and just a short ten-minute walk to the heart of town. We were allocated Room 1, a twin room situated on the ground floor, which we found to be delightful. It was remarkably spacious, perhaps even the largest room within the guest house, and maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. The provision of tea and coffee making facilities was also a welcome touch.

If you're simply in search of a place to lay your head, this spot certainly serves its purpose well. Its location is incredibly convenient, being very close to the train station, and I found it to be quite cosy given what it offers. The room itself was clean, and having tea and coffee making facilities available made the £45 price point feel like good value. I also took note of the door key and locker arrangements.

I found this guest house to be an ideal stopover location for catching an early ferry from Dover. Parking was a breeze, as I easily found free street parking right nearby. The rooms were notably clean and tidy, and I appreciated the thoughtful provision of tea, coffee, and biscuits. It was also convenient to have shower gel and hand soap already supplied.

My stay was incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean, perfectly situated right in the heart of everything. I'm already planning to return and will certainly choose to stay here again. The housekeeping team truly stood out, always being so kind, friendly, and incredibly diligent. Furthermore, the washing facilities were excellent, and having the option to do my laundry on-site was a really convenient bonus. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
